In the beginning.......
No,that"the beginning".Actually it is a more recent beginning.Something near and dear to anyone reading this blog,the formation of the NJAR.We started off as group of people barely knowing each other.We all came to the table with different talents to improve on NJ racquetball.Well at least most of us did.A young ambitious kid named Jonathon Clay was pretty quickly elected leader of our group(though some tournament days I think he wishes he missed that meeting).Aimee Ruiz-Everyon knows how she can kick butt on the court but who would have thought she had a shy side.I think she only took the Vice President position out of pressure.Gloria immediately was writing things down,so she was born to be the secretary.And the last executive board member was to be the hardest to fill,the money person.Nancy filled the Treasurers position and I never heard the letters and numbers 501(c)3 so many times .It sounds like a character in Star Wars.Now what to do with the rest of us?Many had connections at clubs or had ambition without direction(we will get to me in a little while).Rick and John Patric(whew thats a future blog)tok junior racquetball to the next level.Joe Delgado-computer wizard/website guy(I never know what the heck he is saying at meetings.I think he has been doing computers so long he is speaking binary, not English)JoeC-great touney desk guy.Felix or Fee as know to the VP helps with signage,gatorade.translating,an sometimes part time Cuban muscle.Vic (the owner of the Classic athletic clubs) gave us his club like it was ours for the first tourney,literally.Melanie got so many sponsors to donate stuff I think she threatened the merchants.Then there is Jon,not the important president and not the guy helping out with juniors.The board had to be saying "What are we doing with this guy .He sells fruit,at least he will donate some fruit."Before I knew it I was ordering food,picking up kegs,and taking care of everything that had to do with food and beverage.Than Clay gave out some very special titles like" Hospitality Director"I figured at least now I sound important.I get the last laugh though.I GOT THE BLOG!.Next:Panno's year end awards."Hit Smarter Not Harder"
